So, it is with sad news that I wtell you that we said goodbye to Midori. During a session whre we were clipping her wings she had an accident and passed away. Goodbye sweet girl!

I have had people ask how I fit 12 stampers in my small (1300 sq ft. house) When I fit 12 I will seperate the tables with 6 chairs to each. I can fit another 4 around the corner on a small table if need be. I have learned to have 2 days of stamping to accomodate my card class. I enjoy the 10 for Hostess club though! A sad day indeed

Well, layoffs have hit Stampin' UP! Over 50 employees were let go. Inlcuding my stamping idol Linda and Jaron who made me laugh every time. They will be missed not only by me, but by countless others.

I still continue to love Stampin' UP! and I am glad that this week I will be registering for convention. I will miss some of the superstars that will not be there, but I will look for my inspiration among others who share my love for this hobby!

Knowing there is a new catalog coming (and only one a year, thank you for small things!), and seeing what a great mini catty we have now, I am filled with inspiration once again.

Well, there is no excuse for not doing what I said I was going to do. Updates and tutorials. Lately my blog has sat with no use and to tell the truth, I am not on the computer much anymore. Life has just taken control. LOL

So, what HAS been going on???

My husband has been home and out of work, this does not make me int eh mood to sit and stamp for enjoyment and I now find myself only stamping for classes and clubs. This also makes me not want to share the hobby that I enjoy so much.

Our computer woes put me far behind and now instead of catching up I am just going to start where I am.

I have also restarted Weight Watchers and am down about 7 lbs. in 2 weeks. Not too shabby, my clothes are already starting to fit differently. NICE!!

Anniversary Wine Weekend!!

Gene and I headed to Temecula for our Anniversary. 11 Years! Woah. He made us reservations at South Coast Winery , where we enjoyed wine tasting, a winery tour, a wonderful dinner and a beautiful room.

We managed to sleep until 10 am and since we did not eat our chocolate strawberries from the day of arrival we had them for breakfast on our patio and enjoyed a beautiful view.

Then it was off to a great lunch and the tour. Afterwards we hit a couple more wineries for some tasting and then headed home. I wish we would of been able to stay another night.

Hostess Club for November

Holiday Gift holder using Night of Navy, Bashful Blue, White CS, Night of Navy ink, Craft white, Spotlight On Christmas Stamp set, Large Star Punch, White Grosgrian ribbon, dazzling diamonds glitter.

Second Project was a "Santa Soup" Mug. I got a plain white mug from Big Lots for $1.00 and then we used a belly band with Real Red, Basic black and White CS. Jolliest Time of the Year Stamp set Dazzling Diamonds glitter. Real Red, Basic Black, Summer Sun, Almost Apricot stampin' write markers, real red and hunter grosgrain ribbon.

Lastly, we made a tea towel that we stamped with Baroque Motifs stamp set. We used the Choc. Chip and Real Red craft ink, both tag punches, and the new Alpine Ribbon Originals from the Holiday Mini.

I have a bunch of pictures to upload this afternoon and instructions on how to make some of the items. I guess we call that a tutorial. LOL

This week at work has been bosses week. We don't do that whole bosses "day", too many of them to fit in one day. So, I have been mischievous and trying to play "pranks" on my bosses all week. Two more of them to go tomorrow and then we are done. Sigh!

Yesterday we got my boss, Wendy! In a coloring book we found a sheet that says "Wendy for Governor" so we had all the kids color a sheet and we put them up in our hallways. Then the adults wore *badges* that said "Vote for Wendy" and had her picture on it.

Today, we got our boss, Kim. We put 15 of those punching balloons in her office. We had all the staff sign die cut balloons and put those on her door and wall. There is also a sign that says "Ms. Kim likes to roll with the "punches"!

Tomorrow we will fill Adah's office with stuffed animals and put a sign that says "Adah's Ark" above her door (she loves Noah's ark) and Jamie will get a sign that says, "Jamie's Boutique"(she is a "shoe" in for boss of the week) and we are filling her office with her shoes stolen from her house by her mom. (she has a huge thing for shoes!) I am planning on taking pics and posting them, so I will do that on Saturday after it is all over!

Until then.. imagine my evil laugh and my worn out body! (hey, it's not easy being sneaky!!)

Today I made these for the daughters of a friend of mine. They are having a B-day party next Sat. and I am adding these to the list of little gifts I am making for them. I also got them T-shirts but I am also planning on making a pen to go with the notebook and a shrinky-dink bookmark.

I finally was able to find a jar at Walmart for my "Spooky" Spider! He is a special Decor Element from Stampin' UP!

All I did was add some black organdy ribbon and a cute tag using both tag punches from Stampin' UP! and a spider stamp from the retired set, Bitty Boos.

Yes, there is someone new joining our little family. Her name is Midori! She was Gene's birthday gift from me and the boys. He has always wanted a bird and we have always had a cat. I used to tell him a bird was a $50 snack for the cat. So, I decided since we have no cat, that we could get a bird.

The stamp is from the dollar bin at Michaels! I used Real Red, Basic Black and Old Olive Card Stock from SU! I then used black embossing powder and colored it with my water color crayons from SU! Dry embossed background was a cuttlebug folder. After it was all done I put a nice thick layer of crystal effects on the liquid part of the drink. Finished it all off with some wide SU! Real Red ribbon.

I even found matching tic tacs.

I found the instructions here, one of my favorite blogs to visit.

I used the Cutie Pie paper from SU! and So Saffron, Purely Pomegranate, and whisper white CS. Along with the scallop punch and the Circle of Friendship stamp set, and double stitched pomegranate ribbon. All from SU! I glued the tic tacs to the paper using mini glue dots.

These are 3 of the 5 that we did for last months SAS. We embossed or used the heat gun for all 5 cards. Luckily all the girls brought their own heat tool. I was kinda afraid it would pop a circuit, but all was well.

The 1st card is using the magic image technique, the second with the cherries is the scratcha nd sniff, and the last is just embossing

Here is the new Salon I am working in. The Owner has just finished a remodel, and today we had an open house. When I get those pics from the other girls I will post them too.

We have a great supply of hair products and accessories. We also carry 2 lines of makeup and a full line of skincare. There is no shortage of artistic ability or freedom in this salon! So far, it is one of the best salons I have worked in.

Okay!!! I have been told by a few people that I need to update my blog. I have to admit that they are right, it has been a while. But, hey!!! I added music. Does that not count? I guess not.

So, while I am at work right now, I can tell you that you are not gonna get the updates you WANT! All my pics are on my camera at home. So, I promise to update today with stamping pics and such. Including pics of the salon I am working at now.................Oh wait...Did some of you not know that one? Yes, I have returned to the salon part time. I am working with some of the girls I used to work with. I am really excited about this one and cannot wait to build my business! Where is the salon, well, email me and I will give you the info!

So, to other news. Both kids are doing well in school and the little guy is feeling much better. After him having pneumonia and me having bronchitis, I think we are ready for some good health. Now, for how long that will last, I have no idea. I do have plans for both of us to have a flu shot. Working in a day school and now in the salon, I am gonna be exposed to a fair share of cooties, (yeah I said cooties) and I am tired of being sick.

Okay, that is all for now. except to say, I am enrolling for new hostess clubs next month and dont forget to get started on those Christmas cards!!!

Tonight I started my planning and cutting for my quarterly scrap class. I decided to have it tomorrow after all. I will have 6 girls here for the event. I finally decided to only have my scrapping quarterly due to the time constraints i have with my SAS and my hostess clubs, etc. I was running out of time in the month to hold events. Also with the limitations of 12 x 12 paper, that SU! is offering in solid color packs, my creativeness is cut down.

I think tomorrow when my scrappers are scrapping I will cut and do my cards for my upline's group meeting (we are doing a card swap).

I just need to find a babysitter for Wed. night.

On to other things. Well, remember how I tried the Kenra hairspray? Well, I love it. I am totally digging all of the products I am using from them. The past couple of days I have been using the root lifting spray. LOVE IT!!! I got a sample size with my new hairspray. I also have been using the mousse and the clear paste. I have been soooo happy with all of it. I think I would recommend this product to anyone.

She learned to stamp on Monday.Her work was so very fine,she forgot to thaw out dinner,so we went out to dine.

She stamped cards on Tuesday.She says they are a must.They really were quite lovely,but she forgot to dust.

On Wednesday it was a scrapbook,she says the cropping's fun.What hi-lites! What shadows!...But the laundry wasn't done.

Her embellishments were on Thursday,green, yellow, blue and red.I guess she really was engrossed,she forgot to make the bed.

It was journalling on Friday,with words that she adores.It never bothered her at all,the crumbs on all the floors.

I found a maid on Saturday,my week was now replete.My wife can scrap the hours away.The house will still be neat.

Well, it's already Sunday,I think I have the cramp.I’ve cursed and raved and ranted,The MAID has learned to STAMP!!!!

well, let's just say I have the busiest weekend coming up. Tomorrow, I have to finish getting fliers ready for a home show expo I am participating in. I have to go to the bank, clean my house, go grocery shopping so I can make tacos when my brother in law and his wife come to town tomorrow night. After that.....I have to pick up my kids from school. All of this between when I get off of work at 12:30 til I pick up the boys by 6 p.m. Oh......and we have a potluck at lunch for one of the girls at work who is leaving.

Sat, I have the expo from 10-2 and then home to do, well, I don't even know what.

Sun. I take my parents to Long Beach so they can depart on their cruise.

Did I happen to mention that I plan on being busy?????

The good news??? I have pics of my hostess club projects and my stamp a stack that I can post some time this weekend. You will not be disappointed.

Can I just say...............................................Okay, I am speechless!!! I want some of these. Let's just say I want most of the Prima catalog. It is even worse that the office is only like 40 mins away. I feel like a kid in a candy store when I go in there.

Martini Anyone???

Last night I wanted to stamp a Martini card. Well, here it is.

I used the new Wild Wasabi paper from SU!, some cute cheap paper from the Target dollar spot, Really Rust paper from SU! and some cute brads I picked up at Mikes. (The stamp is from Mikes, too!)

I embossed the image and then used my ink pads and a blender pen to watercolor the olive an liquid.

Yumm, makes me want a drink!

I do have some uploads for you all to see. I will do that later today. I made invites for Patrick's birthday and some cards for a swap I am doing. I am also going to work on some Christmas cards I have to do for another swap.

So, on Saturday I watched Cruel Intentions. I forgot that I liked this movie. Of course it could just be Ryan Phillipe. Half way through the movie I was thinking I needed to watch Dangerous Liaisons. In case you did not know, CI is a young version of DL. Still very good.

Last night, hubby comes homes with Ghost Rider for me to watch. I just love Nicholas Cage. I only watched about an hour of the movie before I headed off to bed. (I just dread Sunday nights. Monday morning 5 am comes way too quickly.) I think I will head home from work today and watch the rest.

Today I also started South Beach. I will let you know how that goes. We are leaving to go to Jamaica November 4th and I want to lose at least 20 lbs. So, I will give you updates on this.

Well, many events are taking place today. I cannot begin to even fathom how I will get through today.

Last night I did my 6 x 6 layout for my meeting tomorrow. I am not sure if I like it. It is really plain. I may to spice it up a bit. So, that may be on the agenda for today.

This morning I used my new hair spray I got. I have to say I really like it. My hair was easy to work with, great hold and lots of shine. I will see how it holds up through the day. Kenra is one of those products that you cannot get anywhere but from the distributor or a salon. I like that. After doing hair for over 15 yrs. I am tired of seeing professional products on drugstore shelves. It takes away from a stylists' recommendations. There is just no quality control anymore. UGHH! Okay, sorry for the rant.

So, back to the events of the day.

When I get off of work today at 12:30, I get to head to Patrick's allergy appt. This time he will be getting a FULL Panel of test for foods. You should see this list I have. Yikes. But, we get to choose some things we want him tested for. I hope this helps to solve the mystery a bit more. He is just miserable, he has been off his creams and his antihistamines for over 2 weeks and his eczema is OUT OF CONTROL. So, I called his prescriptions in and they are ready to go when he gets done.

Tonight is the big night!!!

Yes, Harry Potter release party at Barnes and Noble. I am excited to go. I am excited for the new book. I am NOT excited for the series to end. Sigh! Now, the big question is.....can I keep from reading the end first. I did not do it on the previous book, but will all that has to happen with this book, I can make no promises.

I have to tell you. I had a "why did I not keep this set when I ordered it" moment when I made this card. I used Denier's "Carte Postal" set with some Bohemia paper I got at Mikes. I think I may just have to buy this set again now that I know it is in the new catty!

By the way, shimmer paper ROCKS!!!

New Catty Kickoff

This past Friday I had a new catty kickoff at my house. The girls made 3 projects and then after they bought stuff they were given raffle tickets for the stuff I cleaned out of my closet.

I have to say, I really like the new level 2 Christmas set from SU! (I borrowed it for this class)

Polka Dots and Paisley has fast become one of my favorite sets. Thank you Shelli for the Christmas gift. LOL With this project they made 2 cards to go in the pouch.

This card did not quite turn out like it did in my head. It still was a cute, quick card.

Okay, I took a card I made at convention last year and changed it a tiny bit. This is one more project that my hostess club made. It was my intention to show them more than one item made with the scrap kit.

And..... this is the project I made for a *back to the basics* shoebox swap. I am soooooo into the cherries right now. So I made a matching gift card holder to go with the 2, 4, 6, 8 box.

Just a few embellishments and the simply scrapping kit and you have a great box. My hostess club loved these.

I got the template from up upline Kathy Thorn. She gave us a great template and this is one of the projects that my hostess club did. They just loved that I gave them carte blanche and let them add any embellishments and pieces from the kit that they wanted.

This month my Stamp a Stack was themed for Men's cards. We made 5 cards for men and boys. It also gave me a chance to use a couple retiring stamp sets that I just adore.

I had to get in a card with Lovely as a Tree. This is one of my fav. men sets.

Now I have to admit that my safari card did not come out like I wanted. I should of made a tag or something. But, my blue Aloha card was a big hit. So simple and so cute. The bugs took the prize though. I did the glitter over the whole front, and used some great ribbon from Jody (SCS Texasjodylynn) To finish it all off, Balmy Breezes!!!!

All cards for the month were made and featured ribbon. (never again.. I tied most of the ribbon and my hands were killing me by the end of the night.)

I do have to say the class was fun, and it has been easier to have SAS classes with a theme. It really takes the pressure off of me for thinking of designs.

I took my shoebox project that I made for my swap group and redid it a bit. I have to say, I really like the coasters, and I am just a Prima freak lately. Stickles helped with the sparkly part.

I wanted something to keep a few pics of my boys in at work. Now I have something. I think it will be a great way to advertise that I am a SU! demo too. Someone will comment and I will fill in the blanks.

Scrapbook I donated for the silent auction.

Okay, I decided to donate a class for 6 people for the silent auction at the day school I work at. I then had to make a sample. So, I had to stamp and I had to do it fast. In two hours on Sunday this is what I came up with. I used the wood book from Prima and lots of Prima flowers. A bit of ribbon, some SU! papers, stamps, inks and other accessories and I was on my way.

I also donated two baskets of card making supplies including stamp sets, spots, primas and lots of other goodies. Hopefully they will help raise money for the day school.
